Decked Out In Titanium, The Bovet Récital 12 Is The Sporty-Chic Answer To Client’s Demands

Pascal Raffy’s first-ever watch with a bracelet.

One of the oldest watchmaking brands in Switzerland, Bovet was taken over by Pascal Raffy in the early 2000s. Since then, the brand has consistently invested in a holistic approach to watchmaking. Bovet develops and produces its watches in-house with a rare level of vertical integration, combining expert craftsmanship and technical expertise. Bovet timepieces are renowned for their distinctive, traditionally formal style that honours the brand’s history. With the new Récital 12, Pascal Raffy introduces the next chapter in the brand’s legacy. His first bracelet watch redefines Bovet’s elegance in a more casual direction while maintaining its signature craftsmanship and attention to detail.

According to the brand, the Récital 12 was created in response to collectors’ requests for an everyday-wear timepiece, specifically on a bracelet. As explained by Pascal Raffy, “BOVET has traditionally been a strap House, but we have had many collectors from all over the world asking for a metal bracelet. I’m very detail oriented when it comes to comfort and design, so I knew if we did a bracelet, it would have to be as close to perfect as possible. My team and I worked on this timepiece for two full years, going through version after version to get it absolutely right.”

In true Bovet fashion, the bracelet stands out with its distinctive style and meticulous craftsmanship. Featuring brushed and polished surfaces, the design of the full titanium bracelet highlights a signature V of Bovet design. For his first bracelet watch, Pascal Raffy chose grade 5 titanium, known for its robustness, excellent resistance to corrosion and scratches, hypoallergenic properties, and supreme comfort due to its lightness. The bracelet is fitted with a folding buckle and a 3mm fine-adjustment system, allowing for micro-adjustments to the length for optimal comfort.

This new bracelet is perfectly integrated into a 40mm Dimier case. The open-worked design reveals the intricacies of a new movement. Comprising 227 components, this hand-wound movement is manufactured in-house, including its hairspring. It features an inverted construction, showcasing its balance wheel on the dial side.

The architecture emphasizes symmetry, with the hours and minutes displayed at 3 o’clock and a three-pronged small-second indicator positioned at 9 o’clock. Additionally, there is a power reserve indicator to monitor the impressive 7-day autonomy. As expected from Bovet, the finishes are superb, featuring circular Geneva stripes and blued screws.

Available in dark blue, emerald green, or turquoise, the off-centre dial of the Récital 12 is also manufactured in-house. It features the Bovet lotus flower motif, with its 12 petals marking the hours. The depth of the colour is achieved by applying seven layers of lacquer in succession. The Bovet Récital 12 comes with a 5-year warranty. The price for this new Bovet Récital 12 is set at CHF 29.800 excluding taxes.
